FRANCISTOWN: A fight that broke out between two prominent Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) activists has turned for the worst as it is now before courts after a truce to end the matter amicably failed.

The fight, which the state argues was instigated by the chairperson of the Francistown South branch, Ford Moiteela, who allegedly assaulted the Member of Parliament for Francistown West, Ignatius Moswaane, by strangling him and pushing him against the wall happened on April 12 at Block 4.

It happened before the Phillip Matante East ward by-election that was eventually won by Uyapo Nyeku of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) with the help of the Botswana Congress Party (BCP). Peter Nare represented the BDP.
