MoESD explains its involvement in invigilation

Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) is temporarily involved in invigilation to 'glue' relations between the Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) and teachers.

In his presentation to the Committee of Inquiry in the 2010 examination on Monday, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoESD, Dr Theophilus Mooko said the BEC Act is a constraint and the invigilation issue is complex as there is no relationship between BEC and teachers community. Hence the ministry has decided to intervene.

"MoESD has capacity in terms of labour and centres (schools), there is need to work out an agreement that would run well," said Mooko.
