LOBATSE: Eight completing Moeding students will next year face trial in a case in which they allegedly destroyed school property during a riot on the final day of examinations in November.

Yesterday, prosecutor in the case, Sergeant Boitumelo Chinyenge told Magistrate Cele Lebakeng that investigations are complete and school authorities are still establishing costs of the damage.

Leatile Ntwaetsile (19), Martin Chico (18), Moyombuya Sipho (18), Arnold Botlhoko (20) Tefo Mmualefhe (19), Tshenolo Serame (20) Modisaotsile Moretele (19) and Brian Motlhagatsane (19) are alleged to have assembled immediately after their exams and gone rioting.  The students are alleged to have broken 25 classroom windows, destroyed an un-quantified number of plumbing pipes before proceeding to damage at least four boys’ hostel doors.
