Modubule a free agent

Lobatse MP Nehemiah Modubule has said he is a free agent, who can address rallies of any party without seeking the consent of his former party, the Botswana National Front (BNF). Modubule won the 2009 general elections as an independent candidate after the BNF sacked him.

Addressing a Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) rally over the weekend in Mochudi, the legislator said he was shocked recently when some people in the BNF scolded him for frolicking with the new party. "Ba nkomanya ba re (admonishing me and saying) why did I attend and speak at a BMD rally in Francistown two weeks ago. But I asked them who are you? Ka hithela ke sa ba itse. Those guys chased me from their party and they have the nerve to ask me why I am frolicking with the BMD. The fact of the matter is that I am not aligned to any party at the moment. I applied to be admitted back to the BNF but they are dragging their feet," he said.

The militant politician, who was clearly in his element, delved into political rhetoric challenging interim BMD leader Gomolemo Motswaledi to give him a political home as the BNF is taking long to respond. "Motswaledi, kana o a ntia rra! Ee! O a nkutlwa," he said.
