Mochudi Mascom Tower damage cost P1 million

The damage done to the Mascom Tower in Mochudi, allegedly by Bakgatla tribesmen last year, is worth over P1 million, court papers indicate.

 The charge-sheet in which Bakgatla royals Mmusi Kgafela and Mothibe Linchwe and Bana Sekai Linchwe, Bakgatla Kgafela, Chiliasi Matlapeng, Segale Linchwe and Seikanelo Sebolawe are accused of illegally destroying the telecommunication tower indicates that the damage is estimated at P1,033,554.

The charges were read to the accused before Magistrate Lot Moroka yesterday although they will make their pleas at a later date.
The seven accused were granted bail. The charge sheet says the seven men, on October 10 last year, willfully and unlawfully damaged or destroyed the tower causing a loss of P1,033,554.
