Ministry fails to take over RAVOS

The dispute over Ramatea Vocational School (RAVOS) takeover by the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) is far from over.

The ministry was supposed to take over the brigade last Saturday but this never happened because the institution's board changed its mind.

The board does not want ownership of the brigade's properties like buildings to devolve to government in the take-over. The board is happy to pay staff terminal benefits and take care of RAVOS liabilities and debts but told the ministry to look for its own premises to run the school.
