Minister of Environment and Tourism, who is also Gaborone South Member of Parliament, Dumezweni Meshack Mthimkhulu has passed away.

Sources confirmed last night that Mthimkhulu, who took over from Philda Kereng as Minister in February, had been ill for some time before succumbing to his condition. Prior to this role, he served as Assistant Minister for the State President since 2019. An attorney by profession, Mthimkhulu was set to represent the Botswana Democratic Party in the upcoming general election. His death is a significant loss to both the party and the nation. May his soul rest in peace
