Botswana Mine Workers Union (BMWU) members have travelled to Gaborone to hand over a petition to President Ian Khama today.

The petition is meant to sensitise the President on the current state of affairs in relation to the closure of BCL and Tati Nickel mines, which have left at least 6,000 mine workers jobless.

“Yes, we will be handing over the petition at Notwane Grounds today and we have secured four buses – three from Selebi Phikwe and one from Tati for our members to travel to Gaborone,” BMWU president Jack Tlhagale said.
