The Kopong man, Arabang Modisane, who won P1 million in a Standard Chartered Bank competition, says he has never dreamt about that kind of money.

"I never expected to win that money because there were so many contestants.  I have never dreamt to be a millionaire in my life," said the down-to-earth miner.

Modisane was announced as the winner of the Standard Chartered-sponsored competition which has been running for customers who applied for loans with the bank since last year. Modisane, who works as a maintenance fitter for BCL mine in Selebi-Phikwe, said he did not take the competition seriously. He qualified for the competition after he applied for a P50,000 loan which he got last year. Modisane said when he was invited for the final draw in Gaborone; he did not want to come. At some stage he told the bank that he would not be able to attend the draw and they advised him to write delegating a representative. It was only his supervisor and work mates who convinced him to try his luck. They told him that he might not have the same luck as the person that he wanted to delegate to attend the draw on his behalf. "Ba ne ba mpolela gore kana lesego ga le tlhakanelwe".
