Mentally ill murder accused High Court-bound

The case in which a local man, suspected to be mentally ill, is alleged to have stabbed a security guard to death for laughing at him, is due for the High Court.

The latest development emerged at 24-year-old Thabo Tladi’s appearance before Village Magistrate’s Court, Chief Magistrate Mompati Taolo this week.

The State says Tladi killed Pholosi Nkoti, a security guard at a residence in Phase 2, Gaborone some time around April this year. State prosecutor, Christinah Ramokwena told the court that the accused killed the security guard in cold blood without provocation. She said that the accused had just arrived from a night out when he found the deceased chatting with his companion. “The accused was driving into the compound, he found the deceased in the company of another who where chatting and laughing. The accused then allegedly felt the two were laughing at him.
