MELS wants early general election

FRANCISTOWN: The president of the opposition MELS, Themba Joina, has called for an early election.

He said this in his presidential address to the MELS congress held in Palapye over the President's Day holidays at which he retained his position of party president.

The MELS president observed that the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) government is on the verge of collapse. To avert the collapse, he said, "We call on the state president, Ian Khama, to call an early general election".
