Media urged to promote Phikwe through accurate reporting

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The media has been urged to promote Selebi-Phikwe by reporting accurately on issues taking place in the town for its development and growth.

During his welcome remarks at a three-day media training workshop in the mining town Letlhogonolo Nkolane, Selebi-Phikwe District Officer-development said the workshop is relevant to economic diversification.

He added that government has taken giant steps towards diversifying the town's economy in view of the eminent closure of BCL mine. "Media should play a pivotal role in promoting Selebi-Phikwe as a special case so that it does not turn into a ghost town," he said.
