One of the casualties in the recent Botswana National Front (BNF) primaries, Omphitlhetse Maswabi, is protesting the results of the Kanye South constituency elections.

A newcomer to the party, Abraham Kesupile, who polled 1,083 votes, defeated Maswabi, the MP for the constituency.

Maswabi came third in the elections with 586 votes. However, Maswabi said he does not accept the results of the elections because they were fraught with irregularities. Without elaborating, he said the elections were fraudulent. Maswabi said he could not reveal the irregularities to the media because his appeal is still with the party.
