Masisi will be inaugurated on a Sunday

Speaker of the National Assembly, Gladys Kokorwe has rubbished claims that President Ian Khama could vacate office earlier than March 31, 2018 for his vice’s takeover.

Briefing the media today, Kokorwe said despite it being a holiday, Vice President Mokgweetsi Masisi will be inaugurated on April 1, 2018.

As leaders vacating office goes, the late president, Ketumile Masire stepped down as national leader on a Tuesday being on March 31, 1998 and Festus Mogae was sworn in on a Wednesday, while in 2008 it was on a Monday with Khama taking office on a Tuesday.
