Business came to a standstill at the Central Business District (CBD) in Gaborone this evening after a man (names known to this publication) reportedly jumped from the Itowers building.

The 49-year-old jumped from the skyscraper around 5.30pm and was rushed to Julia Molefhe Clinic where he was certified dead.

Police spokesperson, Near Bagali confirmed the incident to MmegiOnline.

“(It happened) just around 1730hrs. Whilst the details are still sketchy, he was certified dead at Julia Molefhe clinic. Police investigations have commenced.”

However, he could not say if the matter is treated as suicide.

“I wouldn't want to conclusively say he committed suicide, pending investigations,” Bagali said.
