A middle-aged man fell from the fourth floor of National Development Bank headquarters in the Main Mall during lunch hour yesterday, in what witnesses described as a work accident.

Although efforts were made to ascertain the man’s fate from the bank, police and emergency health services failed but witnesses said the man appeared to have survived the fall and was conscious when stretchered off.

Onlookers, who requested anonymity, stood terrified around 1.15pm as the man plunged headlong from a fourth-floor air conditioning unit.  Eyewitness reports reveal the victim first landed on an above-ground balcony before, continuing his horizontal fall.
