Man burns, perishes in a car accident

PALAPYE: Just a week after 19 lives perished in separate road accidents in a period of seven days, another horrific accident has claimed a life along the A1 road near Mahalapye in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to Mahalapye police traffic officer, assistant superintendent Kgosienalerona Sechoni, a north bound truck overturned and caught fire near Serorome valley at around 5am.

“Unfortunately all the goods that were carried by the truck burnt and the 36-year-old Motswana driver also burnt and died on the spot. The names of the deceased are still withheld while his next of kin are being informed,” said Sechoni.
