Makgato denies her ministry intrudes in 'church business'

The Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs, Dorcas Makgato has dismissed Kgosi Maruje Masunga's claims that her ministry tends to intrude in the affairs and management of churches in Botswana.

Speaking at the ongoing Ntlo Ya Dikgosi meeting recently, Masunga asked the minister if there were no better structures through which both parties could dialogue rather than the hostilities that were currently being seen.  He further asked if there would be change of approach from the ministry and government in relations over the years. 

He said there had been a pattern where international church figures and personalities were barred from entering the country and asked if a similar approach accorded investors could be extended to the church.
