Majweng seeks to rejoin BDP

LECHENG: Lecheng/Malaka ward councillor, Charles Majweng who won the seat on an independent ticket in the last general elections has indicated that he wants to rejoin the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

Majweng, who lost in the primary elections of the ruling party contested for the seat as an independent candidate and won. "I have been a loyal BDP member and I will always be. In fact I will be tendering my application letter to the party."

The councillor indicated during an interview that he had been unhappy with the bulela ditswe procedure which he termed was unfair to candidates yet there were no conflict resolution mechanisms in place.
