Local Films Feature At 2016 Human Rights Film Festival

For the first time, locally produced films will be showing at this year’s Ditshwanelo Human Rights film festival, which starts in Gaborone on March 30.

Thanks to the efforts of the newly opened film, television and acting college in Oodi, AFDA Botswana, at least three honours student documentaries  will be screening at the Human Rights Film Festival from March  30 to April 6, elated College director, Tsholofelo Ntshingane, disclosed.

The students will present their films and engage in questions and answers sessions. Ntshingane says engaging in the Human Rights Festival will form part of the students’ internships where they will learn how a festival is run, funded and co-ordinated, adding that the producers will use the festival as a network opportunity to get their films to further festivals abroad.
