Recently appointed Transport and Communication Minister Nonofo Molefhi has been taken to task for failing to give reasons why certain people in the Boteti region were allocated farms as compensation.

When Member of Parliament for Boteti North, Slumber Tsogwane questioned Molefhi on the farms for compensation in Parliament on Thursday, the minister failed to give reasons for the compensation but finally relented under pressure to reveal the names of the beneficiaries (which The Monitor is in possession of). This is not the first time, Molefhi has been taken to task over the matter.  In December when Molefhi was Minister of Lands and Housing his response was that the Ngwato Land Board had reserved 10 farms in the Boteti sub-district for compensation and for remote area dwellers.

He said that from this number, one had been allocated as compensation whilst another was given to the Central District Council. The remaining eight he said were reserved for the needs of remote area dwellers and compensation for cases that were pending before court.
