Khama to attend BDP parliamentary caucus

President Ian Khama will meet Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) parliamentary caucus today to discuss the crisis bedeviling the party.

Sources close to the ruling party have revealed that some BDP MPs called on the President to come to the caucus so they can discuss the dire situation because of the defection of legislators, councillors to the breakaway Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD).

So far, the BDP has lost seven MPs to the new party. Sources reveal that some BDP MPs are blaming the President for the mass exodus and want to engage him on the matter, with a view to stemming the tide.
