Khama cheers the congress

TONOTA: President Ian Khama has set the party’s 37th congress on stitches as he teased the delegation from South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC) not to be intimidated by his party’s black, red and white colours by mistaking it to the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

“When you see people attired predominantly in the red colour, don’t run away, we are not the EFF. As the BDP, we are well behaved we are not like the EFF,” he said to a round of infectious laughter.

He encouraged the ANC delegation to relax and feel free.
