Khama �Cancels� Ghetto sobriquet

FRANCISTOWN: For decades Francistown has been known by the sobriquet ‘Ghetto’ but President Ian Khama now wants residents in the city to cease using the name. The President made the call when officiating at Francistown’s 120th anniversary that was held at the Francistown Sports Complex over the weekend.

When giving the keynote address Khama said Francistown has massively developed over the years and therefore it is not justifiable to continue using the nickname, Ghetto.

He said the name Ghetto is associated with shanty towns.
