Kgathi sceptical of Judiciary

The deputy secretary general of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) who is also the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Shaw Kgathi has expressed concern over increasing levels of crime committed by perennial offenders who are on bail.

Kgathi said the courts reverse efforts to fight crime by continually granting bail to serial offenders who then continue to terrorise the society.

“During kgotla meetings Batswana are worried about the levels of crime committed by people who have been granted bail by the courts,” he said.
