Amidst all the fracas surrounding Kaone Sebogodi’s unexplainable fires, she has come out to blame her father as the root cause of all the hardships she faces on the ground that he practises traditional medicine.

Sebogodi recently approached The Monitor for an interview stating she wanted to set the record straight. She stressed that people are misunderstanding her and at the same time ill-treated her due to unexplainable fires that have been trailing her over the past years, singling out her father as the cause of the fire. “When we were in Zimbabwe with Pastor Isaiah Gynaciao, he asked my father if he was a traditional doctor,” she said. “He responded by saying, yes. The pastor then told my father to throw away his stuff as they were the cause of the fires.” Sebogodi explained that this was after she had sought help from Gynacio’s church in Tsolamosese where she stayed for six months without fire eruption episodes. Following the prophecy on her father Calton Banda, Sebogodi stated they then returned to Botswana and still didn't experience any fires as they had been in the past.

However, Sebogodi revealed that just when she thought she had buried her fire problems they came back when she visited her father in South Africa. “I arrived safely at my father's place and spent the night there without any troubles. But the next day my father's child screamed from the toilet alerting us of the fire,” she said. Sebogodi explained that the fire situation persisted on other days which left her with many questions about why the fires were back as she had gone for months without experiencing them. “I was wondering why the fires were back and that is when I remembered Pastor Gynaciao’s prophecy when we were in Zimbabwe that my father is a traditional doctor and his acts result in these fires,” she said. Wondering if her father followed the instructions as the fires continued to persist, Sebogodi stated that she turned the house upside down to clarify if her father did throw away his stuff. “I searched the house when no one was there and whilst I was searching in the wardrobe I saw his traditional stuff that he was told to throw away. This proved to me that this is why the fires are back,” she said.
