Joina to represent Shashemooke 'riot instigators'

FRANCISTOWN: Prominent lawyer Themba Joina will represent 13 residents of Shashemooke village near Francistown who are charged with inciting violence, causing bodily harm and malicious damage to property. This emerged in the magistrate court yesterday when the accused appeared for mention in the case.

Assistant Superintendent Lapologang Moatswi told Chief Magistrate Peggy Madandume that Joina, who is also leader of Marx, Engel, Lenin and Stalin (MELS) Movement of Botswana, has declared to him that he will represent the accused persons in the matter.

He said: "Attorney Themba Joina has told me that he will represent the accused persons. We agreed that the matter be mentioned again on December 12 when he will be available."
