Japanese Embassy supports OVCs at SOS Children�s Village

The funds are for the refurbishment of the fence around SOS Children’s Village in Francistown, by replacing the damaged iron mesh fence to a new solid palisade. This will enable SOS to enhance and ensure the security of their facility where 196 orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) are currently staying.

At the signing of the contract, Kitso said that the security risk from the damaged fence has been a major concern, as it posed a security threat to the youngsters in the Children’s Village. Kitso further stated that with this support from the Government of Japan, the safety of the establishment will be ensured, and it will contribute greatly to the sound growth of the children. Therefore, he said, the Association sincerely appreciates the Japanese Government’s support in this regard.
