Is our education system really that bad?

Just when many thought the newly introduced measures, including the use of revised curriculums and the inclusion of teachers under the Essential Services Law would improve the performance of students and teachers, if not the entire education system, it does not seem that way.

Things are taking a dramatic turn as something seems to have quelled the Ministry of Education and Skills Development and its sister partner Botswana Examination Council (BEC). It can only be said that it is a force so brutal that it has left many with less hope of ever seeing this country produce world-class leaders of tomorrow and the question that remains on people's lips is, how bad is our education system?

Not only has the education system come under the spotlight on many occasions, but it also seems to be followed by one controversy after another. Half of the time its employees are running around putting out fires instead of working towards the improvement of education.
