Now some residents want to dethrone the Kgosi

SEKOMA – Kgosi Kekailwe Tefiso’s seat is on shaky ground after some residents threatened to remove him from the chieftaincy for his alleged participation in politics and using his position to lobby for the opposition in the area.

For the past 25 years, Sekoma which falls under Jwaneng /Mabutsane constituency, has been in the hands of Botswana National Front (BNF) and this according to some residents is because of the influence of Kgosi Tefiso on the tribe.

Assistant Minister of Local Government Botlogile Tshireletso was not spared the tribes’ grievances in her recent visit to the area. A pressure group of five led by Kgosi Tefiso’s younger brother Fraser Tefiso, relayed their grievances to Tshireletso regarding the matter and suggested that he should be dethroned.
