FRANCISTOWN: Dr Habaudi Hobona of the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) is on the brink of making history as the first female opposition MP should she win the Francistown West constituency by-election.

The by-election pits Hobona against Shathiso Tambula of the Botswana Peoples Party (BPP), which is in partnership with the Botswana National Front (BNF), independents, Joseph Mabutho and Kago Phofuetsile. 

The biggest obstacle to Hobona's ambitions is the BDP candidate.
