'Hand of God' sneaks Merafhe into parliamentary committees

MPs were shocked yesterday afternoon to learn that the Leader of the House and Vice-President, Mompati Merafhe has been sneaked into the select committees, contrary to a resolution by Parliament in July.

Lobatse MP Nehemiah Modubule was adamant that the final draft of the revised Standing Orders excluded the Leader of House, from sitting in select committees. He demanded answers on how the 'Hand of God' sneaked Merafhe into the committees when Parliament never agreed on the matter. The Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Lesego Motsumi tried to intervene, explaining the Standing Orders but her efforts bore no fruit.
