Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) chairman, Guma Moyo has laughed off strong weekend reports that suggested that he is among key members of BDP sponsored by ZANU-PF to scuttle President Ian Khama's succession plans.

Yesterday, the MP denied allegations that top BDP officials are being investigated by the police over ZANU-PF links. "First people were saying that I was buying people to vote for me, now the story is that  I am being bought, do you honestly believe I can be bought? I see it as media talk. I can't control it, and I don't have time for it. I have a lot in my hands right now like preparing the BDP for the elections.

If you ask me about how we are preparing for the elections next week, we can talk," Moyo said. But he admitted that a parliamentary candidate in Bonnington South in Gaborone has been suspended from the party. Chris Nthuba, alleged to be his ally, has been suspended leaving the incumbent Botsalo Ntuane to unopposed ahead for the November 30 BDP primaries.
