Grandfather attempts to rape grandchild, 6

FRANCISTOWN: A 70-year-old man of Nshakazhogwe village is set to appear before the customary court after attempting to rape his 6-year-old grandchild last week Thursday.

Tutume police station commander, Superintendent Vusimusi Jorowe confirmed the incident and said that the incident occurred at 8pm last week Thursday when the young girl was sent by her parents to give her grandfather his supper. Jorowe said, the suspect stays alone at his home few meters from where the young girl and other family members stay.

He explained that upon arrival of the young girl, the suspect allegedly touched her all over the body trying to have sex with her. The young girl managed to escape before she reported the matter to her parents soon after the incident.
