As part of its 12th National Development Plan (NDP12), the government has revealed public-private partnerships plans for the installation of cable cars and a revolving restaurant atop the scenic Kgale Hill and the tourist destination of Kasane.

Minister of Environment and Tourism Wynter Mmolotsi revealed this to Parliament recently. The projects are set to promote adventure tourism as the sector targets a “diversified and inclusive tourism product, encompassing the vast geographical locations in Botswana that offer accessible, authentic, and memorable experiences, fostering discovery and connection”.

The new project and first-ever Cable Way project in Botswana is set to offer an exciting urban adventure, providing visitors with panoramic views both in Gaborone and Kasane. The engineered cableway is set to elevate tourists to breathtaking, picturesque views of the Kgale Hill. But the adventure doesn’t stop with the cable car ride; guests will also experience the culinary journeys where cuisine meets breathtaking hill views.
