Govt spends P2.3bn on tertiary education

The total expenditure in provision of training in local institutions stood at P1.6 billion, while external placement cost P610 million.
This reflected a reduction of 66 percent from the period 2004/2005 when external placement accounted for 93 percent. The director of DTEF, Marcos Maedza told Mmegi that this was due to the fact that a larger number of students were placed regionally and overseas, especially South Africa, Malaysia, the UK, Australia and Ireland.
