Govt diverting S/Phikwe projects - Saleshando

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Selebi-Phikwe West, Gilson Saleshando, is suspicious that the government may be plotting to turn Selebi-Phikwe into a ghost town by diverting developments meant for the town.

Citing examples such as the closure of the National Development Bank (NDB)and Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) offices in Selebi-Phikwe and moving them to Francistown, he called on the government to make its intentions clear to the people. He added that developments of some schools have also been moved to Palapye.

Saleshando expressed his fears yesterday in Parliament when he called on the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Kenneth Matambo to explain why his ministry closed NDB offices in Selebi-Phikwe just to move them to Francistown.
