Geological Survey opens in Lobatse

The Ministry of Minerals, Energy and water resources through the Department of Geological Surveys will today officially open their two new buildings in Lobatse.

The department provides base geological information to the private exploration companies who use the information to do geological investigtions resulting in the discovery of mineral deposits and mining of these resources in Botswana.

The department, over the years has witnessed growth, according to a statement from the department. That is why government saw it fit to commit funds to be used for its expansion hence the new buildings. One of the building will be used  as a lab while the other will be used as an office block and administration centre for the survey.
