Gaborone Dam Jumps To 13.9%

Gaborone Dam, which has been dry for the last 12 months, is back to life, all thanks to recent downpours.

In the last week, heavy downpours in the Gaborone dam catchment areas have seen the water levels at the dam improving initially to 2.4, 2.8, 6.8, and to its current level of 13.9 percent, before the heavy rains died down.

At 13.9 percent, the Gaborone dam water can now supply for four months. There has not been a significant inflow into Molatedi Dam in South Africa, which also feeds Gaborone. Molatedi recorded only 8.9%, enough for only 17 months.
