Police have nabbed a 34-year-old former detective, who was the alleged mastermind of a P2 million cash in transit heist at Sir Seretse Khama Airport (SSIA) committed by a gang in 2012.

Kealeboga Mogale, who at the time was working for Brinks Global Services, is suspected of masterminding the robbery of a vehicle, which was on its way to the SSIA, as part of a trio of robbers.

Mogale and two others were charged with theft of the cash, which belonged to the Bank of Botswana, but the former detective went on the run after absconding trial and skipping bail.
