Just when the nation is still reeling in shock following an accident that claimed 45 lives in South Africa and another that killed two people in Ga-modubu, another public transport bus overturned this morning in Palapye.

The Francistown bound Tee Pee public transport overturned in Palapye and left some passengers seriously injured along the A1 road.

Palapye police station commander Superintendent, Molly Lebala-Moduke said the accident was reported around 3am this morning and investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what really transpired.

She said the night bus was headed to Francistown from Gaborone.

"We do not have concrete information as yet, but there are no fatalities as it stands. However, people who were on board the bus have been sent to different hospitals and clinics for medical assistance. The cause of the accident is not yet known, but the bus has overturned and left passengers injured," Lebala-Moduke said.

MmegiOnline has learnt that the bus driver was trying to avoid an oncoming car that was overtaking.
