In an accident that occurred on Friday afternoon at around 1:40pm along KT Motsepe Road along the Western Bypass, a man, likely to be aged between 25 and 30 years, was fatally hit by a horse and trailer truck in Block 5 whilst attempting to cross the road. South Central Deputy Divisional Traffic Officer, Senior Superintendent Dominic Ntsholetsang, explained the man didn't have any documentation in his possession and were yet to establish his identity. "We are pleading with members of the public who haven't seen one of their family members since Friday to contact Gaborone West Police.
The deceased corpse is at Pule Private Mortuary," he said. In another accident that occurred on the same date at around 8:30pm near Trans Cash and Carry in Mogoditshane, Ntsholetsang said a 22-year-old pedestrian was also fatally hit by a Nissan vehicle driven by a 51-year-old man whilst attempting to cross the road. On a third fatal accident that occurred that same night at around 10:30pm near Top Centre along A12 Road, he said a 34-year-old man was hit by a Toyota Hiace private ambulance whilst attempting to cross the road. "The deceased was rushed to Nkoyaphiri clinic where he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors," said Ntsholetsang. "In another fatal accident that occurred on Sunday at around 7:15am along Highway near Phakalane traffic lights, a 27-year-old man who was driving a Madza died on the spot following a head-on collision with a horse and trailer truck." Ntsholetsang said investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what caused the head-on collision since the accident occurred on a dual carriageway with curb stones in between.
