Fiery Madonsela comes to town

Outgoing South African public protector advocate Thuli Madonsela will be the guest speaker at the Law Society of Botswana (LSB) gala dinner scheduled for September 2, 2016. The gala dinner is part of the LSB stakeholders’ engagement initiative.

“The LSB considers strong independent public institutions as one of the bedrocks of a viable and vibrant democracy. In this regard and as part of its mandate, the society has consistently engaged its stakeholders at various fora on the need for strong public institutions and the centrality of independence to achieving such objective,” reads a statement from the LSB.  

LSB said they have invited Madonsela because of the recognition she has received the world over for her commitment to fighting corruption and her pursuit for truth.
