Farmers cry for govt rescue

FRANCISTOWN: Farmers across the country are appealing for government’s immediate intervention as drought is threatening to wipe out their crops and livestock.

Most livestock farmers said that they have lost their animals due to lack of pastures, as the currently experienced drops of rain in some areas has worsened the situation.

The farmers said the rains have washed away fallen tree leaves which animals used to graze on as substitute for the grass.
