Eight people died in a horrific car crash incident near Phakalane on Saturday, in what onlookers say looked like a suicide mission by the driver who caused the car crash.

Onlookers The Monitor spoke to narrated how a car heading North, a City Golf, immediately changed lanes, put on bright lights, and rammed onto an oncoming Toyota Epson, resulting in the loss of eight lives while another critically injured motorist was fighting for his life at Princess Marina yesterday.

Police spokesman Dipheko Motube says the driver of the city golf, a 21-year old University of Botswana student, also died on the spot, while five of the eight passengers in the Toyota Epson also died on the spot, with two dying from their wounds later at the hospital.
