EI calls on trade unions to unite

The only choice workers have when confronted with regressive legislation is to stand and fight together, vice president of Education International (EI) Mugwena Maluleke said at an annual conference recently.

At the Botswana Sectors of Educators Trade Union (BOSETU) annual conference that was held in Francistown, Maluleke told unionists that “solidarity is our strength”.

“Workers have to stand together, fight together.  The only choice trade unions have is to develop joint campaigns and mobilise their members to fight in defence of freedom of association as a fundamental human right.  We urge you to open talks amongst yourselves as unions in education,” Maluleke said.
