Drug abuse high amongst youth

Research has shown that there are various factors that could influence drug abuse among the youth. Environmental factors such as lack of supervision, media influence, and peer pressure and internal factors within the child or personality such as self-esteem, poor social skills and attitudes about drugs are among risk factors, writes Mmegi Correspondent KGOMOTSO MOLELEKENG

While many young Batswana admit to using drugs because they are easily accessible, others say they use them so that they are seen as 'cool'.
