A 22-year-old man from Masololo ward, Serowe, has taken his own life by hanging after discovering his girlfriend in bed with another man.

On Friday at around 2am, the deceased went to visit his girlfriend but found her sleeping with someone else, leaving him deeply troubled.

Before heading to work that morning, his mother noticed he looked stressed. She questioned him about what might be bothering him, and he revealed the ordeal to his mother, who tried to console him before leaving for work. No. 2 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Paul Oketsang, confirmed they are investigating the matter. Matlhaba, narrating the incident, mentioned that around lunchtime, the deceased called his mother, stating that "there was no reason to live as the pain of what transpired was unbearable". "The mother said she immediately rushed home only to find her son hanging from the rafters. The deceased was rushed to Sekgoma Memorial Hospital, where he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors. Despite our efforts to plead with people to respect the sanctity of human life, we continue to lose lives because of love-related relationships, and it is worrisome," Oketsang said.
