Dikgosi question safety of telecommunications consumer data

Ntlo Ya Dikgosi has questioned the compliance of telecommunications companies in protecting consumers in light of the arising artificial intelligence and intrusive crime.

During the sitting yesterday, Kgosi Thabo Maruje Masunga said there was a need for consumers to be protected from intrusive behaviour especially that intelligence organisations are known to abuse their powers.

“Since intelligence organisations around the world are know n to abuse their powers, the telecommunication providers should ensure that its consumers are protected,” he said.
