Decomposed body found in shallow grave

FRANCISTOWN: The decomposed corpse of a man aged between 20 and 30 years was found buried in a shallow grave inside a ploughing field at Madingwana lands in Tutume last Saturday.

According to assistant superintendent, Motlogelwa Dibonwa of Tutume Police station, they got a report from the owner of the field who had been informed by his neighbour about the corpse. "The field owner was alerted by one of the women ploughing in a neighbouring field and he immediately reported the matter to us," said Dibonwa. He said the woman told them that she had noted that the ground could have been dug up and something buried underneath. The woman is said to have then informed the owner of the field about her suspicions, who subsequently reported the matter to the police.

"Upon arriving at the ploughing field we found the dead body of a man buried underneath. Because the body was decomposed, we called a pathologist from Nyangagbwe Referral Hospital in Francistown to come and examine it," he said.
